This suit represents animation and enterprise, career, planning and knowledge. Planning goals, gaining knowledge, energy and growth on a spiritual level. The rods suit also deals with creativity, action and movement of events. Rods can have the qualities of enthusiasm and adventure, but as a risk taker when planned out. Rods deal with our material growth and passion.
This is not just about money, but how you spend your money and what you build. The energy flows outward and generates the idea into a reality. The wands suit deals with career and work related issues material gains and knowledge learning and planning short term and long term goals.
There are a few different names for wands, batons, staffs, rods, sticks there are more there are more variations out, more coming out with the themed decks. Rods are a fire element, is the direction south. The season is spring. There are some folks that follow that rods are an air sign and the direction east. They are a masculine element, yet again there are some that put feminine energy as the suit represents creation.
The court cards which are the King, Queen, Knight, Page. Some decks will have princes and princess or Knaves. Every deck has its own wording and theme. The court card describes more details about people.
The number cards can be more about events and situations.
Each suit will have the court cards with some of the same general information such as all the Kings are wise and the Queens are nurturing and the Pages /knaves are messengers The characterizes of a person of the wands suit general has fair skin ,could have reddish/lighter shades of hair. They could even be a fire sign
The following are only some key words for each cards of the Rods suit. I have used the Aquarian Tarot deck as my reference deck. I have also found that the art work and symbols on the deck are an update from the classical tarot, yet at the same time keeping a lot of the traditions. Every time that you use a new deck there is going to be new symbols that will be there and that will help you build more keywords and your tarot knowledge.
King -- The king of Rods will give you the will power to make your dreams into a reality.
Upright - Strong, honesty, fair in attitude and mannerisms
Reverse –Flighty, judgmental, leadership, scattered
Queen - The Queen will nurture your ideas into a reality
Upright –Loving, nurturing, fertility, family, successful

Knight –are all about changes. Knights are never still; suggest movement, travel.
