Angels are a great fascination to many people and there is much written about them from both the New Age and religious perspective. My personal leaning is towards the religosity of Angels and their special relationships with God as His/Her Divine Messengers. There are many ways and rituals touted to use to contact or work with specific Angels but this practice is, in my opinion, both misunderstood and misused. Angels are not to be worshipped directly, it isn't in their mandate of service to the Divine. To properly petition for assistance, in the Christian sense, we are to ask Jesus to ask God who will dispatch the Holy Spirit to come to our assistance and to send us the good Angels who can help us in our special circumstances. Somewhat like this:

In Jesus name, I, ________________, ask you, God, to help me with ____________. Please send me the light of the Holy Spirit and the guidance and support of your precious Angel/Archangel ______________ (name here is optional) to assist me with my need and keep me and all those dear to me safe. All ways in all ways, always. All is well. Amen.

I recommend burning a white candle and writing your petition or request on a piece of paper, reading it out loud three times and placing the paper under the candle. Remember to snuff the candle when done and say "Though extinguisehd in the physical, you still burn in the astral. Lit, burn there always."

There are specific Angels associated with specific circumstances we may be facing in life as well as more general issues. Araachangesl are the messengers who carry divine decrees and appease and conciliate the sins we make in ignorance and lets God know when we are right with Him/Her.
